Who am I?

My online name usually has the word “sprite” in it. LadySprite, Spritey…stuff like that. People often think this refers to fairies and some people even think it refers to the drink. But if you look up top at my header you will see that it is neither of those things. It has to do with graphics. I used to work in the graphic design field and it’s something that I still like. So yeah. Wanted to get that out of the way.

The Basics: I am a 30-something year old single parent to a teenage daughter, Amanda, we have a Japanese Akita named Ares and in September 2007 we moved from Massachusetts to Indiana where I bought a nice home with my boyfriend Ken where I hope to start a fresh new life. I have been actively looking for a job out here since October 2007 and I am still unemployed though in October 2008 I started to work occasionally, part-time, at the same place as my boyfriend (only when they need the extra help). Even though I have a background in graphic design my last job (of over 4 years) was in food service, and I really loved that job!

I’m kind of quiet and shy, but once someone gets to know me and I am comfortable around them they soon find out that I am silly and also tend to babble…and for some reason they find it “cute”…I’ll never understand that. I like to draw, try to write and pretend that I can take good pictures. Yeah, I have a creative itch that I can’t quite scratch. I’m goofy, geeky and all kinds of weird/good stuff that I just can’t put into words. If I tried your head would explode.

Music: Mostly rock, T.V. show & Movie soundtracks, Nickelback, Staind, Breaking Benjamin, L’Arc~en~Ciel, Gackt

Movies: Comedy, Action, Fantasy, Sci-fi, The Princess Bride, Serenity, Pirates of the Caribbean, Clerks, Star Wars

TV: Discovery channel, Sci-fi channel, Monk, Scrubs, Burn Notice, Heroes, How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory, Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Farscape, The Invisible Man (I-Man), ReBoot, Star Trek (DS9 is my fav). I actually don’t watch a lot of TV, except for certain shows, I actually just usually end up watching things on DVD or hulu.

Books: The Dresden Files, Codex Alera both are series by Jim Butcher, Odd Thomas series by Dean Koontz, The Legend of Drizzt series by R.A. Salvatore, Alex Cross series by James Patterson and The Princess Bride. Notice how I seem to read a lot of series and not one shot books. I think it is becasue I really like to get involved in the worlds and characters that I read about. And I always hate that sad feeling I get after finishing a book I really enjoyed.

My blog is very random, I don’t write about a specific thing I just write about whatever. So it is kind of all over the place, which is how I am whenever I talk.  So welcome to my pointless blog.
